KFC Scoring Fans’ Cooking Attempts With Words That Could Kill

KFC Roasts Its Fans on Twitter

KFC has taken to roasting its fans on Twitter in true Gordon Ramsay style.  Click here to find out more.

When the COVID 19 pandemic hit the world, scores of fast-food chains were forced to close down and Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) was no exception.

However, it is not easy for a loyal fan base to be denied deep-fried chicken that is ‘Finger Lickin’ good. With plenty of time on their hands and nothing better to do, they tried out their hands at recreating KFC’s legendary recipe. KFC also got into the spirit of the game and asked them to share their homemade creations on KFC’s Twitter handle under the #RateMyKFC hashtag.

They decided to rate them on the basis of a one to ten rating scale with one being the worst and ten as close to KFC style crispy fried chicken as possible. However, KFC is fiercely proud of its recipes and their trademark chicken and they did not take kindly to most of the pretenders to the KFC throne. When people shared the pictures of their efforts on KFC’s twitter handle the replies became pretty savage, to say the least.

In fact, some of the replies would put Gordon Ramsay to shame! To be fair they did add the disclaimer that: “I’m more Ramsey than Berry”.

The Contest

The KFC style cook-off idea was announced on Twitter via a heavily retweeted post, “Reply below your best homemade Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) with #RateMyKFC and I’ll score it out of 10″

The lowest score of 1 was given to a man who had obviously not taken the idea seriously. He simply uploaded a piece of a piece of pre-cooked chicken and KFC was quick to respond:

You might as well just put your middle finger up at us, Dan.”

Someone else got a 2 with their fried chicken and mashed potatoes combination. KFC responded tartly with:

“We’re Kentucky FRIED Chicken (KFC), not Kentucky cook it in a lukewarm bath for nine minutes chicken.”

A Twitter user posted a picture of her salad, pea and chip dinner, and the chicken looked pretty good; but not enough to satisfy’ KFC’s inner Ramsay who gave her a 2 because there was a bottle of Nado’s Peri-Peri sauce close by. They said:

“It was all going so well, Lauren. Then you doused it with Devil Juice. 2/10”.

However, it was not all doom and gloom since many entries got pretty good ratings. A man got a solid 8 thanks to his cheese chicken, and waffle combination.

As of now, there has been only one person as yet, who has received a whopping 10 out of 10 thanks to the almost uncanny resemblance of his chicken to the real thing. KFC was pretty happy with his creation and simply called it “unbeatable”.

This fun contest has definitely whetted the appetites of KFC fans who can’t wait for the chain to reopen again, in a post COVID 19 world.
